Looking At A Princess in Suburbia: By Princess Fumi Hancock (William Collins Publishing, London, June 2, 2014)

First, I want to thank all of you who have chosen to join my cause to make “what seemed impossible POSSIBLE!” The road to writing The Adventures of Jewel Cardwell: Hydra’s Nest” was a challenging yet exhilarating one. Unlike many of the authors who have professed to write one book in few days, this has been a twenty year success in the waiting!

Someone once asked me when I knew I was a writer; my response back is an hilarious story my parents once told me about my robust life at the age of two.

According to my parents, once I got off my knees and started to walk; no one could stop me from scribbling on anything and everything I laid my hands on. My mom once said that at one point, they felt it was cute that I had developed an interest early writing (though they were mostly gibberish). But they soon got fed up with it when I began digging out of the house important documents and was scribbling on them! What was their resolve? Every day, they would put me in a special room with a pile of newspaper and a marker. And I would write away on those newspapers till my heart is content. Today, I still write on newspapers and wondered where the idea came from… well, I know now.

As a young and newly married woman in a foreign surrounding; not knowing too many people around me; I often sat down to write the characters I saw in my relentless dreams. It is amazing the type of imaginative characters which come alive when you are facing your darkest moments. To me, these characters were weird, the scenes were awkward and I felt intimidated or even afraid to share them with my then husband. Once, I told my ex-husband about writing and the response was enough to shut me down. When these daunting characters and story plots would wake me up, I would quickly hide in a closet with a touch and jot them down. After my bitter divorce…after gaining back my sanity; my children then 1 1/2 and 2 1/2 yrs became my top priority. I who had a thriving Day Care Center was left with absolutely nothing but my boys.

Fasting forward, I am so grateful today that my tears have been wiped away. I have been given a new lease in life… Favor has smiled on me…. blessed with a wonderful husband who cherishes and supports my writing… my boys are now 22 and 19 yrs and in college. Yeh to that! And now you my readers are allowing me to live my dream and to tell the “nay sayers” that “THIS MISSION IS POSSIBLE”. Perhaps, one day I will write a book detailing my life story; a thought to ponder upon.

This Special edition I am offering has some sections which are not in the 1st eBook edition of this adventure. Here, I have included a sneak review of The Adventures of Jewel Cardwell’s sequel called the Sorcerer’s Purgatory and lots more. Today, I share with you my labor of love… I share with you the “friends in my head “, hoping that you will delight in them as they have been my companion for ssuch a long time.
